A Voice of Experience

EP Motivating Force:

Jeralynn: I would like to provide additional income and still be available to my children. When I grow old, I'd much rather have memories of the times that I was able to spend with my children rather than years wasted away sitting in an office.

Linda: I have a handicapped son, who requires regular medical attention as well as numerous doctor and hospital visits. A traditional job would not afford me the time off that I would require, yet I need the extra income to help make ends meet.

EP Musings:

Jeralynn: Try not to get too frustrated when you're trying to work on a project and your children seem to be relentless in pursuing your attention. My children are still very young, and their needs are constant and endless. Whatever I am working on at the moment rarely gets completed in one block of time. Remind yourself that your real goal is being available to your kids.

 

Linda: Don't expect too much from your children in the way of cooperation. They need time to adjust to your new activity.

 

EP Advice:

Don't give up. The saying that "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" rings true. Believe in yourself and your dream. You can never fail until you quit.

Favorite Pastime: We both love gardening. It's similar to parenting. You nurture it and let it grow, giving it what it needs at just the right time. Then you stand back, wait and take pride in your accomplishment! I can find great serenity in tending and admiring the flowers while listening to the birds.
