Report Card Time"

- We all know them. Mothers who display
their children's awards, test scores, and report cards like mounted
hunting trophies on their walls and refrigerators. Our kids need
to know we're proud of them, but where do we draw the line? I
say we mothers deserve some recognition too. More than just a
Sunday a May when we receive a card and potted plant.
Now, it's report card time again.
But how long has it been since you received a report card?
If you're working at home, you
are probably dealing with many challenges. Business issues, deadlines
and lean times. Family issues, from unsupportive spouses to sick
kids and family squabbles.
But you've kept at it. You are
the one who is with your children all day, you know better than
anyone else does what is best for them. You've dealt with the
criticism and complaints. You've been there when your kids have
needed you, and you're building a business at the same time.
You are the model for the new workplace, the mothers of the future.
So it's about time you received
a little recognition. Give yourself a pat on the back, better
yet, give yourself a report card. Give yourself a big A+. Take
down one or two of the kids' pictures and hang your report card
on the refrigerator. The kids won't mind and you deserve it!
