How I Simplified
My Life by Becoming an EP
I am 36 years
old and married to the same, supportive, love of my life for
almost 15 years. We have an 8-year old and a 4-year old. Five
years ago, I gave up a six figure executive track management
job and moved from a hustle, bustle suburb of Washington, D.C.
to a horse farm county of the Maryland countryside.
There were many factors leading
up to our dramatic change in lifestyle, including Nanny nightmares,
long work hours, 2-3 day a week travel schedule, and having to
be forced to leave town on business when my daughter had pneumonia.
Our move resulted in significant
changes for the better personally, and the invention of a career
professionally. I now make my living coaching moms with kids
and careers that want more balance in their lives. Last summer
I taught a seminar on Stress Strategies, published two short
articles on recognizing and combatting stress, and gave a talk
to the Women's Bar Association in D.C. on Survival Strategies
for the 90's.
The transition from being a corporate
executive in a metropolitan area to becoming an Entrepreneurial Parent in the countryside has been a five-year process
so far, and I would never turn back!
